Died on the 7th August 1946. Aged 30.

Incident:
Corporal J. Fordyce, Lieutenant G. Gaylor and Sapper A. Hurley all died at this incident. Mine clearance at Rattray Head northeast Scotland.

George Medal details:

Lieutenant G.H. Gaylor had been awarded the George Medal when with 23 Bomb Disposal Company, in Belgium. When on the 6th November 1944 he worked thirty feet down in the waters of the Albert Canal at Hassault in nil visibility, on an unexploded bomb half buried in the mud. It was also covered by the tangled remains of a destroyed railway bridge.

Married Ruth Mabelle Unknown of Llanishen, Cardiff.

Served in the 11 Bomb Disposal Company, Royal Engineers.

Commemorated in Abney Park on the ___ Memorial.
