Elizabeth "Teddy" Maloney died at home on Nantucket Island Feb. 17, 2003, of natural causes. She was 81.

She was born in Fort Benning Ga., and was the daughter of the late Army Colonel Edward James Maloney and Elizabeth Hunt McElroy Maloney.

She was a long-time resident of Nantucket and attended 14 different schools all over the world. She joined the American Red Cross in England and was posted to England, France and Germany.

She moved to Virginia in 1967 following the death of her husband and made her home in the row houses across from Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She made many friends while living in Harrisonburg and attended Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, Frank "Kal" Kalinowski, preceded her in death.

She is survived by four children, Katherine Johnston of Fairfax, Michael Kalinowski of New Market, N.H., Tricia Kalinowski of Westport, Conn., and Robin McElroy Maloney of Nantucket, and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will held 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg, followed by a tree planting and a covered dish meal. There will also be a memorial service in Nantucket at the Unitarian Universalist Church Saturday, July 19, 2003, at 2 p.m.

Donations may be made to the Hospitality Home Program (an organization providing homes to people undergoing medical treatments) 138 Tremont Street, Boston, Mass., 02111 or the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket.

Donations in Virginia may be made to the SPCA, 2238 Old Furnace Road, P.O. Box 413, Harrisonburg, Va., 22801 or the International Bible Study Fellowship, 19001 Huebner Road, San Antonio, Texas, 78358.
