We regret to announce the passing of longtime resident of East Andover, Irene Jewett. Irene a very well loved member of our community, was a long time supporter of the Andover/East Andover Fire Departments and member of the Andover Rescue Squad. Irene volunteered from the Rescue Squad, maintaining her active Nationally Registered EMT license until she was 75. She served on our planning board, supervisor of the checklist, more recently volunteering with the July 4th planning committee. Irene recently celebrated her 101th birthday, still holding the oldest person in the Town of Andover with the Boston Post Cane.
To summarize all that Irene has seen and done in 101 years of life would seem astonishing. We would like to pass our heartfelt thoughts to her family and friends.
Irene's graveside services will be help this Sunday, December 3rd at the Lakeview Cemetery in East Andover at 1 pm. Refreshments following at the East Andover Fire Station.
