Lawrence was born in Cass City, Michigan on September 22, 1926 to the late Lawrence R. and Madeline (Hebert) Ball. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; and, on June 16, 1951, Lawrence married the former Joan Youngs. He had been employed as a kiln operator at Abitibi Corporation.
Mr. Ball was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 2496, Elks, and the Thunder Bay Woodcarvers.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; 1 daughter, Susan (William) Cordes of Barton City; 2 sons, John (Annette) Ball of Lachine, Thomas (Kris) of Alpena; 7 grandchildren, Jeremy Ball, Jessica (Greg) McVicker, Kayla (Justin) Kollien, Tait Ball, Natalie (Jason) Leslie, Billy Cordes, Nicholas Cordes; 3 great grandchildren; brother in law, Larry Butler of National City.
Preceding him in death were 2 sisters, Rosemary Butler, and Katherine (Ernest) Schawn.
