Charlotte Ann Marchant, 87, lifetime resident of Cherryvale, Kansas, passed away on Friday, November, 25, 2022 at Ascension Living Via Christi Village in Hays, Kansas.
She was born November 2, 1935 to Charles and Nellie (Sawyer) McWhirt in Cherryvale, Kansas.
Charlotte graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1953. On August 27, 1955, in Cherryvale, Charlotte was united in marriage to Joe Marchant. To this union were born three children, Jean, Mike and Laurie. Joe preceded Charlotte in death on February 25, 2004.
Charlotte was a homemaker and worked at the King Drive In along with her husband as owner operator.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Charlotte loved going to her grandchildren's sporting events and bingo. She also enjoyed watching Nascar, Kansas City Royals baseball and K-State football.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Mike (Becky) Marchant, Cherryvale, Kansas, daughter, Laurie (Mike) Konz, Hays, Kansas and son-in-law, Chuck Greenwalt, Cherryvale, Kansas, 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, daughter, Jean Greenawalt, sisters, Dorothy Sees, Edna Ditmore, Mary Louise McWhirt, brothers, Donald McWhirt, Eugene McWhirt and grandson, Charles Greenawalt Jr.
Reciting of the Rosary will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 2, 2022 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cherryvale. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M.
Interment will be at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial remembrances be given to American Cancer Society or St. Francis Xavier Altar Society and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
