Obituary :- "Rock Hill, SC - Julius J. Lorenzi passed away peacefully in Rock Hill, SC, from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Loving father of two sons; preceded in death by his wife, Jean W. Conkle Lorenzi (1923-1975); devoted grandfather of three; beloved brother of two sisters, and the late Silvio "Sax" Lorenzi and Henry Lorenzi-Sojourner; beloved cousin of three surviving cousins, and the late Erino "Ernie" Malacarne and Valerio "Val" Lorenzi; survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. Mr. Lorenzi was born June 24, 1922, in Campi di Riva in the Italian Tirol, the second son of Giuliano and Carmela Lorenzi and nephew of Vittorio and Esther Malacarne. The Lorenzi and Malacarne families immigrated to the United States and eventually settled in the Pittsburgh area. Mr. Lorenzi enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force in 1942 , received training as a navigator-bombardier and participated in 23 B-17 combat missions of the Eighth Air Force over Germany. Courtesy of the GI Bill, he attended the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with an accounting degree. He subsequently earned a law degree from the University's School of Law in 1950, and established a law practice with his friend and classmate, Henry T. Miklas, in Pittsburgh. Mr. Lorenzi practiced law for over 50 years, eventually retiring at the age of 80. He was most proud of the role he played in arranging adoptions for childless couples. "Jules" enjoyed gardening, golf, pinochle and Pittsburgh sports. He was a kind, intelligent and generous man who loved his family and his adopted country. Arrangements are to be private in accordance with his wishes."
