Ray A. Dietrich, Sr., 94, of York, PA, passed away November 24, 2022. He was born July 15, 1928, in Spring Glen, PA, son of the late Harry W. and Vernie M. (Shadle) Dietrich. A Korean War Veteran, Ray was a 1946 graduate of Hegins Township H.S. and 1957 graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Ray was a professional engineer for Buchart-Horn Engineering and retired as chief of the engineering department from PA Department of General Services. He was an avid baseball fan, Penn State football fan, golfer, singer, and would-be evangelist. He was a man of deep faith and conviction. Ray is survived by his widow Naomi LaMay Dietrich to whom he was married 45 years. Preceding Ray in death were brothers George, H. William, Daniel, and Russell, and sisters Verna May Dietrich, Maude Ebert, Hannah Maurer, Sarah Morgan, Mary Dietrich, and Vera Miller. A son Arthur Miller also preceded Ray in death. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Frank Miller Sr., Daniel Miller, Robert Miller, and Ray Dietrich, Jr., and daughters Ann (Dietrich) McHugh and Mary Stoner; twelve grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are on Friday, Dec. 2 at St. David's E. C. Church, 2411 Oakland Road, Dover, PA. Visitation 10 am; service 11 am. Pastor Frank Miller Sr. will be presiding. Luncheon to follow at noon at church. Interment at 2 pm, Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Samaritanspurse.org". LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
