Mary Lois Bozard Sikes, 90, died peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2022.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 655 Hammonds Crossroad, St. Matthews, SC with the Rev. Henry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends after the graveside service. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joe Sikes, Rex Bozard, Paul Blume, Mark Carson, Mike Carson and Joey Groomes.

Lois was born in Calhoun County a daughter to the late Edgar William and Jeff Willis Austin Bozard. She was married to James Monroe Sikes, Sr. until his death in 2002. Lois dearly loved her family and brought joy to those around her. She was a graduate of St. Matthews High School and a lifelong member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. She loved camping and showing horses at shows with her late husband. She was the pianist at Gethsemane Baptist Church for over 30 years and loved singing as well. Among her various jobs, she worked at South Carolina National Bank for many years. She was elected auditor of Calhoun County and served in that position until her retirement.

Lois is survived by her two children, Jimmy Sikes (Gladys) of St. Matthews, Sylvia Maddox (Donald) of Warrenton, Ga; her sister, Patricia Blume of West Columbia; three grandchildren, James Sikes, III, Chris Sikes (Meredith) and Amanda Zeigler; three great-grandchilden, Katelyn Sinnott, Cross Sikes and Mattie Sikes; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Wilma Dority, Judy Peddycord and Barbara Jean Bozard; a brother, Jack Bozard; and a grandson, Bucky Sinnott .
