Following service with the United States Navy, he took up bodybuilding before making his motion picture debut in the Russ Meyer film "Motorpsycho!" (1966). This was followed with "Angels from Hell" (1968), "The Naked Zoo" (1970) and "Werewolves on Wheels" (1971). He appeared on such TV programs as "The Streets of San Francisco" and "CHIPs" before suffering from depression which ended his career. He went on to devote his life to religion. He was briefly married to actress Lana Wood in 1966.
