Actor. He enjoyed a two-decade career in television and low-budget feature films, notably biker pictures. He will be remembered by TV audiences for his two-year run playing 'Lee Webber' in the popular serial "Peyton Place" (1966 to 1968), and as 'Tom Hudson' in the television program "Bracken's World" (1969 to 1970). Born Stephen Oliver Welzig, he moved with his family to Southern California during his youth. Following service with the United States Navy, he took up bodybuilding before making his motion picture debut in the Russ Meyer film "Motorpsycho!" (1966). This was followed with "Angels from Hell" (1968), "The Naked Zoo" (1970) and "Werewolves on Wheels" (1971). He appeared on such TV programs as "The Streets of San Francisco" and "CHIPs" before suffering from depression which ended his career. He went on to devote his life to religion. He was briefly married to actress Lana Wood in 1966.
