Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Adkins, 66, will be held at Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
Mrs. Adkins died Monday night, October 16, 2006 at the home of her daughter.
She was born in Henderson County and moved to Madison County at an early age where she was educated in the county schools. She was the daughter of the late James Frank Jones and Addle Rena Greenway Jones. She was married to Ralph McKinley Adkins and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1991. Mrs. Adkins was a member of Oakfield Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Mount (Dirk) of Jackson; one son, Ralph McKinley Adkins, Jr. (Stephanie) of Jackson; three grandchildren, Jessica Mount, Kyle Mount, and Clayton Adkins; one sister, Mrs. Opal Neely of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dalton Jones and a sister, Jewell Threadgill.
Active pallbearers requested to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. will be Eddie Ballard, Rosman Eddie Ballard, Steven Ballard, Cody Ballard, Gary Patterson, John Thomas Patterson and Danny Adkins.
