Mr. Coman began his banking career in 1894, serving as an executive over 12 banks in Washington, Idaho, and California. After the death of his first wife in 1916 he served as a Washington state senator from 1918 to 1922.
In May 1917 he married Sara (Sallie) Wilcoxson Mitchell.
He is survived by his sons Edwin Jr and Robert, and daughter Catherine. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth in 1916 and his third wife Eva in 1943.
