Funeral service for Mr. Thomas E. Bates will be held 2 PM Sunday, November 27, 2022, at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Larry Savell, Rev. Eddie Pilgrim and Rev. Ben McDaniel officiating. Interment will be in Beatline Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022, at John E. Stephens Chapel.

Mr. Bates, 87, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, MS. He lived most of his life in the Beatline Community and was a member of Beatline Baptist Church. He was a Supervisor for Pepsi-Cola and GM for many years, and he was in the US Airforce, and in the National Guard for 25 years. He was a Mason and a Shriner. His hobbies were hunting, bowling, and working on tractors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Lee Bates and Marion Kirby Bates; sons, Gerald and Alan Bates; sister, Virginia Bates; brother, Bill Bates.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Bates; sisters, Charlene Stamps, Henrietta Wooten; brother, Kenneth Jack Bates and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Craig Nowell, Roger Williams, Virgil Williams, Joe Nowell, Richard Price, Kenneth Bates Jr.
