Thomas J. Struthers was born on July 4, 1940 and went into eternity on November 25, 2022. He was raised in Lewis, Iowa where he graduated from Lewis High School in 1958. After high school he joined the United States Army Reserves.

Tom met Betty Kolby and they married in Oakland, Iowa on November 3, 1961. They were blessed with two children: Roberta (Bobbie) and Martin (Marty). They have been equally blessed with five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Tom was a life-long truck driver for several local companies. He was an elder and member of First Christian Church. Tom's hobbies included wood working, fishing, leather working, watching NASCAR races, but his greatest joy was his family which he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Robert and Mary Sallie Struthers, sister Ruth L. Bellows and nephew Lonnie Boos.

Tom is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years: Betty, daughter Bobbie Miller (Dan), son Marty Struthers (Taryn), five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sister Judy Phippen (Larry), other family and those who knew him and his wonderful sense of humor.

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2022 also at the funeral home.
Interment: Garner Township Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Iowa
