Major League Baseball Player. A native of San Francisco, California, he was a third and second baseman for six seasons (1938 to 1942, 1946) with the Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Sox. He enjoyed his most productive offensive year during the 1939 season, when he had 102 hits with 22 doubles. During World War II, he served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945. After retiring as a player, Lodigiani was a coach for two seasons (1961 to 1962) with the Kansas City Athletics and served as a longtime scout with the White Sox. In 405 career games, he had 355 hits with a .260 lifetime batting average. He died from pneumonia.
