Thelma Louise Perkins, 87, Harrisburg, died 9:48 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at the Harrisburg Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Saline Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. Burial will be in Saline Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.

She was born Aug. 31, 1920, in Saline County to Virgil and Lalia (Ingrahm) Lands. On Sept. 3, 1938, she married Willard Perkins, who preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2006.


She was a homemaker, a member of the Home Extension for nearly 60 years and was bestowed an honorary lifetime membership.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Guylene) Perkins and Terry (Jane) Perkins, both of Harrisburg ; a daughter, Marlene Barter of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Ellen (Brett) Sprinkle, Shannon (Angie) Perkins, Travis (Kristin) Perkins, Casey Perkins, Betsy (Don) Shanks, Chris (Paula) Barter and Doug (Christy) Barter; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Lynn Perkins; and two brothers, Herman and Willie Lands.
