No proof exists that Mary (Sanders) Bedinger either died in Wardensville, Hardy, West Virginia, nor that she's buried in this cemetery. However, the last recorded mention of her is in her late husband, Christopher Bedinger's Revolutionary War pension papers. According to said papers, Mary Bedinger was alive and in Hardy County in 1840 and her son, Joseph has a woman 70-79 years of age residing in his home in the 1840 census. This coincides with the year of birth given by Mary's deposition in the pension papers. Christopher died in Hardy County in 1823 but Joseph did not purchase his Hardy County property until 1839. Christopher and Mary had no land in Hardy County. His grave site is unknown. It is possible that Mary may have been interred where ever Christopher was buried, or hers may be the most ancient of the unmarked burials in the Reynolds-Bedinger Graveyard.
