Services for Anna Elvree Stone Beem will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ardmore with Pastor Harvey Cornegay officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock, Ark.

Anna was born June 3, 1905, in Nashville, Tenn., to Claude Walter and Julia Bell Potter Stone. She passed this life June 7, 2001, at the Ardmore Memorial Convalescent Home.

She married Raymond Marion Beem on Dec. 26, 1927, in Little Rock and worked in Little Rock and Malvern Public School systems as a teacher and principal for 35 years. She was a veteran of World War II, serving as a second lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol. She moved to Ardmore in 1991 from Keene, Texas. She was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church and active in all church endeavors. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Southern Adventist College Alumni, Senior Citizens Center of Keene, Texas, and many civic programs.

Anna ahd her husband, Raymond Beem, built and donated the radio station at Southern Adventist University. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979; a son, Donald Beem, in 1988; brother, Thomas Stone, in 1985; and granddaughter, Sharon Beem, in 2000.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Beem Mathes, of Ardmore; a son, Raymond Beem II and wife, Carol, of Arlington, Texas; two grandsons, Raymond Beem III and wife, Lisa, of Apison, Tenn., Jerry Ludgate and wife, Cathy, of Austin, Texas; five granddaughters, Julia and Dan Hanson of Trophy Club, Texas, Jeannie and Alan Norris of Trophy Club, Texas, Cheryl and David Tillotston of San Francisco, Dr. Virginia Anna Beem and Scott Klair of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Sandra Beem (Zandi) of Pahoa, Hawaii; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dr. George Carlson, Dr. Jim Carlson, Gayland Schnell, Buck Windham, Ferman Mock, Branson Baker, Rex Shepard and Robert Shaw.

Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
