Minetta E. Puffer, 103, of Miller, S.D., died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Miller with Father Terry Weber officiating. Burial was in Cedar Cemetery, Como Township. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Reck Funeral Home, Miller, was in charge of arrangements.

Minetta Fritz was born November 10, 1898 at Sabula, Iowa to Richard and Hulda (Harten) Fritz. She attended school in Sabula. She came to Ree Heights in the spring of 1916 to work for a cousin. She later met and married John Puffer in 1919. They resided on the family homestead in Como Township.

In 1991 she moved to the Miller Plaza and in 1995 to Prairie Good Samaritan Center.

Survivors include one son, Bayard "Bud" (LaVonne) Puffer of Miller; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren; and one son-in-law, John Etbauer.

She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1979; a daughter, Gladys; a brother, August; and a sister, Frieda Brown.
