Beloved son of Simeon and Anna Prochko. William rode the rails in search of work in the colorado lead mines in the depths of the Great Depression. He was returning home, with a substantial sum of saved money, when he was found, frozen to death, and with a depressed skull fracture, in a freight car, in eastern Montana. As he was found with all of his savings accounted for, it was believed at the time that his fatal injury was administered by a railroad policeman. William is survived by his youngest brother, George (b. 1926)
