David Gordon Barber was born to Oliver Perry Barber and Edna Gladys (Warner) Barber. His father was working for the Northern Pacific Railroad. The family moved to Renville, Renville, Minnesota about 1929 and he lived there until David enlisted into the U.S. Navy from Minneapolis, Minnesota for WWII on Mar 25, 1942.
He met and married Charis Lorraine Yetter, whose family had moved from Minnesota to Whatcom County, Washington. They married on Jul 16, 1944 in Blaine, Whatcom, Washington and moved to Renton, Washington where they raised their two children and was his last residence. He died in Seattle, King, Washington Jul 21, 1965.
