HANEY - Sharon E., 68, Geistown, passed away November 18, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born March 19, 1954 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Clarence and Christine (Jones) Layton. Preceded in death by brother, Irvin "Rusty" Layton; sister, Connie (Layton) Way; father in law, Bernard Haney; and brother in law, James "Elmer" Way. Survived by loving husband of 50 years, William "Bill" Haney, Geistown; sons, William Haney married to Jennifer, Ebensburg; and Michael Haney married to Nikki, Moxham; grandchildren, Allison, Sam, Garrett, Micah, Ethan and Ashton; great granddaughter, Maezly; sister, Christine married to Robert Parks, Park Hill; mother in law, Helen Haney, Johnstown; godchild, Dr. Tracy Maluchnik; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved her family and will be sadly missed. She was very creative, enjoyed crocheting, artwork, other interests included solitaire, water skiing, camping, reading and cooking. Sharon was a faithful life member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Moxham. Her family would like to thank the caregivers at Windber Hospice for their outstanding care shown to Sharon in her time of need. Family will receive friends Monday, November 21st. from 5 to 7 p.m. at Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Johnstown, where vigil service will be held. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22nd. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Very Rev. Fr. Matthew Baum. Committal Richland Mausoleum. www.kennedycarefh.com.
