Phyllis married John R. Sowers on August 26th, 1967, at the Presbyterian Church in Montezuma, Indiana. They have been married for 55 years.
Phyllis is survived her husband John R. Sowers of Clinton Indiana, along with her two sons, Aaron Sowers of Clinton and Kreg Sowers (Tessa) with three grandchildren Austin, Kalvin, and Lindsey Sowers of Universal. She has two sisters Beverly Thomas (Neil) of Sun City Center, Florida, and Nancy Craft of Montezuma. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis graduated from Montezuma High School in 1964 and went on to attend Smart Appearance Cosmetology to receive her license. She had her own shop in Montezuma for many years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She adored her grandchildren whom she loved so much and enjoyed teaching, creating, and spoiling them whenever she could. She had a passion for cutting and styling hair. She worked for over 15 years at C.A.R.S. loving and taking care of adults with special needs later in life. Her hobbies and passion included designing and displaying floral arrangements, gardening, camping, cooking, travel, reading, and collecting antiques.
