FORT WORTH - Barbara Hillyer Reid, 93, our beloved mother, passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2022. Born to Jo Ann Dowdle Hillyer and Roy Michael Hillyer , Sr. in Portland, Oregon, Barbara spent almost all of her long life in Texas. She was an alumna of Milby High School in Houston where she began her first career at age 16: modeling. After moving to Fort Worth, she spent the bulk of her professional career in public relations for a local chain of motels.

Barbara became an active traveler later in life and had the opportunity to go to Europe on several occasions. When Barbara wasn't spending time with her own family, she was often socializing with a tight-knit group of widows who called themselves "The Sunday Sisters." Barbara and many of her friends were members of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Debbie Bingham and husband, Larry of Fort Worth; son, Brad Reid and wife, Louise of Galveston; son, Randy Reid and wife, Jean of Waco; seven grandchildren, Lynn, Alan, Bryan, Daniel, Joni, Katie and Michael; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
