Civil War soldier, Eli Easterwood, Co I 91st Indiana regiment, was originally buried on his land. When men from the Federal government came to re-inter Pvt. Easterwood to Marietta National Cemetery, there was no headboard on the grave which was surrounded by a rail pen of Pine tree poles.
