Jackie Don Ables, 73, passed away on Friday, November 18,2022, at his home in Granbury, Texas. He was born September 24, 1949, to Gus Ables and Elizabeth McCoy Ables.
Jackie was a Granbury native his whole life. He was very generous and hardworking. He was a plumber a welder and a mechanic just to name a few. He worked for Brown & Root, Lockheed and spent his last 20+ years working at Sachem in Cleburne. He loved his grandson Isaac, spending time with family and friends and was known for his huge Memorial Day cookouts where he would smoke tons of meat and just ask you to bring an appetite. He loved his property in the country and working on old Hot Rods in his shop while his health still allowed. Jackie battled with Lewy Body Dementia for several years prior to his death.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents and sister Becky Ables.
He is survived by his son Chris Ables and grandson Isaac Ables; brother Jimmy Ables and sister-in-law Kay Ables; sisters, Ann Ables Mageson and brother-in-law Melvin Mageson, Sandy Ables Martin and brother-in-law Durwood Martin, and Verba "Cricket" Boyes.
Memorial Service will be held December 10th at 2pm at Wiley Funeral Home Granbury, TX.
