Richard Acker, 91, of Grand Island died Friday, November 18, 2022, at Tiffany Square.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Scotia at 2:00 PM with refreshments following at the Scotia United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Monday at Apfel Funeral Home.

Richard was born on June 15, 1931, in Greeley, NE to Clinton and Maude (Harris) Acker.

He spent his early years in Greeley County. At age 12, his family moved to Central City where he graduated in 1948 from Central City High School.

On April 10, 1951, Richard was united in marriage to Betty Morrow at her parent's home north of Scotia.

After which the couple lived most of their lives in Central Nebraska where Richard farmed.

Richard was a member of the Scotia Methodist Church.

He enjoyed running heavy equipment and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Acker of Grand Island, NE; children: Richard (Nancy) Acker of Blair, NE, Debora (Don) Tejral of O'Neill, NE, Denise (Vaughn) Harders of Prosser, NE, Charles (Michele) Acker of Grand Island, NE; grandchildren: Adam (Melissa) Acker, Eric (Sara) Acker, James (Tiffiny) Widdifield, Richard (Sadie) Widdifield, Adam (Nikki) Tejral, Elizabeth (Chad) Gonka, Angela (Quentin) Witt, Rebecca (Dave) Koenig, Jill (Chad) Bucknell, Clinton (Michael) Harders, Alexander Acker, Emily Acker; 22 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brothers-in-law: Gene (Helen) Morrow, Ernie Morrow; sisters-in-law: Elsie Ita, Ruby Davis; and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and three sisters and their spouses; two brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
