John Wesley Giddens, Jr. was the son of John Wesley Giddens, Sr. and Anna Clark. He was born March 15, 1820. He was the youngest of four children. His brothers were William O'Connel Giddens and George Biron Giddens. His sister was Elizabeth Giddens and she married Jessie N. Woods. All of his siblings are also buried in the Frazier Cemetery.
John Wesley Giddens Jr. married Sarah Jane Briles, the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Rebecca Permila (Hix) Briles. They were married in Buchanan County on February 23, 1871 Sarah Jane was born December 30, 1885 in Pettis County, Missouri. Her father was in the Civil War and was active at the Battle of Lexington, having his horse shot out from under him and left for dead, only to be captured and held prisoner and later released. During the Civil War, Sarah Jane's mother would take her children into the woods and hide them at night, afraid of the soldiers breaking into their homes while they slept and causing her or her children harm, and possibly death. Sarah Jane's mother passed away when Sarah was only fourteen and she had to assume the motherly role and raise her two brothers, Henry Eratus and James Churchill Briles. She lost a younger brother, William Fincher Briles while her family was still homesteading in Pettis County, Missouri.
John Wesley was a farmer by trade and he also ran a threshing machine, being the first to own such and expensive piece of equipment, he went from farm to farm with his machine and crew. He made a good living with this.
John Wesley and Sarah Jane (Briles) Giddens were blessed with nine children, all of them being born at the Giddens Home place in Buchanan County, Missouri :

The body was brought to the H. A. Sullins Funeral Home and later taken to the family home near Frazer.
Funeral Services were conducted at Frazer Church Tuesday afternoon and interment was in Frazer cemetery.
