His funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2022, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in St. Johns Baptist Church Cemetery, Pinopolis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Pinopolis United Methodist Church; 1833 Pinopolis Road, Pinopolis, SC 29469.
Mr. Ayers was born October 12, 1957, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son to Murray B. Ayers, Sr. and Mary Catherine Brinson Ayers. Mr. Ayers was a member of the Pinopolis United Methodist Church. He deeply loved horses and participated in many horse shows in his younger days. He also liked to share his love and knowledge about horses with anyone who wanted to learn. During his days driving trucks for Georgia Pacific Chemical Division, he could be found on the roads of the east coast, and would often stop to assist anyone broken down or in need of help. He also was an avid guitar player. Mr. Ayers was predeceased by a son, Kevin Ayers.
Surviving are two sons, Jason Ayers of Charleston, and Josh Ayers and his wife, Morgan, of Summerville; a sister, Nancy Theresa Ayers Phillips of Moncks Corner; two brothers, Don Ayers and Jay Ayers, both of Moncks Corner, and two grandchildren, Delilah and Izzy Ayers.
