Note: The name Vaughn, Fannie Ann appears on a Tennessee Confederate Application. According to the book Amos Wheeler and His Descendants, Fannie received a pension of $8 a month for her son, Alfred C. Vaughn who was killed during the Civil War. For this reason I do not believe John Lytle Vaughn is the same John Vaughn who married Fannie Wheeler. I am adjusting this information to match what our family has on record NOT the information provided by another researcher. Our relative ran a toll gate during the Civil War up to 1866.
