Ray T. Pierce Jr., 70, of McConnelsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Dec. 25, 2021. He was born in Nelsonville on Aug. 15, 1951 to the late Ray T. and Lelia Davis Pierce. He was employed at Gould Man. In McConnelsville for 32 years and then opened and operated Pierce Heating and Colling for the past 17 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4713 in Malta, Moose Lodge 2317 of McConnelsville, and the Pontiac Overhead Cam Club. He served his country in the Army National Guards for 6 years. He was an avid turkey and deer hunter and enjoyed restoring old Pontiac's along with several other hobbies. He was a faithful Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan and when time allowed, he enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie. He was survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Ann Kirkbride Pierce of the home, a son, Derek Pierce of Chesterhill, a daughter, Darcee (John Larrick) Pierce of McConnelsville, 2 grandsons, Zane Pierce of Belpre, and Brendon Pierce of Parkersburg, 1 great grandson Nolan Pierce, 2 brothers, Chris (Teresa) Pierce of Cap San Blas, Fl and Michael (Brooke) Pierce of McConnelsville, 2 brother-in-law's, Jan (Linda) Kirkbride of Columbus and David (Nancy) Kirkbride of Columbus and a sister-in-law, Cheryl (Jeff) Norris of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Cindy Pierce. A visitation will be held on Weds, Dec. 29, 2021 from 5-7 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with funeral services following at 7 P.M.
