We are sad to announce that Charlotte Jones Chappele died on August 24, 2022.

She was born on Nov., 6, 1936 to Charlie Edward Jones and Wilma Mayhugh Jones. A Manatee County native, she was raised in Palmetto, FL where she later met the love of her life, Robert Herbert Henry Chappele. The two were happily married for nearly 50 years and had two daughters.

Charlotte worked for ten years as the Business Administrator at Saint Stephen's Episcopal School while her daughters attended school, and then went on to become the Business Administrator for Christ Episcopal Church, during which time she served as both the President of the Manatee Chapter and the Area Vice-President of the National Association of Church Business Administration. She remained involved with both the school and the church throughout her life by volunteering at the Thrift Shop, participating as a member of Saint Anne's Chapter at Christ Episcopal, and staying an involved congregant throughout her life.

Charlotte spent her happiest days antiquing, gardening, and dancing. She was a member of the Sarasota/Manatee Antique Dealers Association and spent years buying and selling treasures at local antique shows.

An avid gardener, she oversaw the butterfly gardens for Village Green Community and enjoyed learning about and tending to native plants.

Charlotte danced through her golden years with her favorite dance partner, Angelo Desantis. Charlotte loved being in the Florida sun, and her family will forever cherish memories of holidays enjoyed with her on Anna Maria Island, FL.

Charlotte is survived by daughters; Robin Thompson of Palmetto, FL and Sheryl Rocha of Tampa, FL; as well as her three adoring grandchildren; Daniel Rocha (Alexa), Dacie Meng (Dennis), and Glori Marshall (Will); and her four great-grandchildren, whom she delighted in spoiling.

A Funeral will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on October 1, 2022 at 11 AM to Celebrate Charlotte's Life.

Any donations in her honor should be made to Saint Stephen's Episcopal School.
