Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 21, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Durant. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.
Phyllis Marie Earp was born March 12, 1932, in Aledo, Illinois, the daughter of Lawrence and Dorothy (Jones) Earp. She attended Durant High School. She married Virgil Herman Boisen on April 17, 1949, in Davenport. She was employed with the Bendix Corporation for over 27 years, until retiring in 1991. While working at Bendix, she served at the local International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.), as an officer. Virgil preceded her in death on August 1, 2018. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Durant, where she was active in the women's circle. She and Virgil enjoyed attending the annual Polka Fests that were held in Durant. She also enjoyed traveling, reading and collecting stamps. Above all, she loved the time she spent with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Laura Sue (Debra) Boisen of St. Paul, MN, and Marie (Mark) Germundson of Armada, MI; two sons, LaMoine Boisen and Ronald Boisen, both of Durant; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, JoAnne Meincke of Wilton; one aunt, Ruth Harkey of Moline, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother-in-law, Larry Meincke.
