CURRY.--Charlotte Louise Curry, age 86, 534 Treasure Lake, Dubois, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday at her residence. Born April 20, 1921, in Dubois, she was the daughter of the late Charles Green and Adelia Hughes Wheeland. She was married to Donald C. Curry, Sr., February 24, 1946, in DuBois. He preceded her in death September 28, 1991. She graduated from DuBois Area High School in 1939 and from the University of Rochester School of Nursing in Rochester, Monroe County, New York, In 1943 she was a veteran, having served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, at Langley Field, Virginia. She was a registered nurse at Maple Avenue Hospital and a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Vivian Brown Sunday School Class, the church visiting committee and was a former choir member. She served as an American Red Cross volunteer at the Red Cross bloodmobiles. She was also a member of the nurses auxiliary of DuBois and was a food pantry volunteer. She is survived by three sons: Donald C. Curry Jr., of Springfield, Fairfax County, Virginia, Charles T. Curry of Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa County, Florida, and William J. Curry of Hershey, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Nancy) Hills of Falls Creek, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Jonathan (Janice L.) McNair of Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lynn Wheeland; and six sisters: Cleta Salada, Helen Boner, Ruth Carlstrom, Carol Candor, Eleanor Conrad and Nancy Joyce Wheeland.
CURRY.-- Charlotte Louise, 523 Treasure Lake, DuBois, died January 15, 2008. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc., in DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Harold Hills and the Rev. James Miller co-officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, West Long Avenue and High Street, DuBois, PA 15801.
