FALL CREEK -- Duane Buckwheat, 84, Fall Creek, passed away Wed. July 5, at the Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home. He was born in Winter, Wis. on December 13, 1915 to Joseph and Margaret Buckwheat.


He married Jean Perry at St. Patrick's Church, Eau Claire in 1946. He had been employed at Pope & Talbot Paper Company until his retirement in 1978.


Survivors include a son, James Buckwheat of Mondovi; five daughters, Mary (Randall) Prieve of Elk Mound, Christine (James) Kellum of Chippewa Falls, Rhonda (Lloyd) Werlien of Eau Claire, Patricia (William) Peterson of Elk Mound, Tamara (Larry) Davis of Fall Creek; two stepdaughters, Dona (Frank) Newton of Big Fork, Minn., Bonnie Wolters of Green Bay; a stepson, Gary (Helen) Winget of Fond du Lac; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.


Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire.
