Mary Jane Lang, 96, Hays, died Saturday, November 12, 2022, at HaysMed. She was born November 11, 1926, in Catharine, the daughter of Albert and Cherubim (Giebler) Staab.

Mary was a graduate of Girls Catholic High School, and on August 6, 1948, was united in marriage to Andrew J. Lang. They celebrated 66 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on August 21, 2014. She and her husband owned and operated several bars. Mary enjoyed music, playing Bingo, and loved her family.

Survivors include four sons: David Lang and wife Cindy, Wayne Lang and wife Tammy, Donald Lang and wife Martha, all of Hays, and Alan Lang and wife Susan of Wichita, a daughter: Dianne Patterson and husband Charles of Ellis, two sisters: Patty Staab of Russell and Roseann Seader of Louisville, CO, nine grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Andrew, four brothers: Elmer, Roland, Irwin, and Marion Staab, two sisters: Arlene Clyncke and Irma Staab, and a grandson: Nicholas Melendez.

Services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 on Tuesday and from 9:00 am until service time on Wednesday, all at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen (CMRI), 8500 N. St. Michael's Road, Spokane, WA.
