Fred completed an AA Degree at Cerritos College, in 1960 and a BA degree at La Verne College in 1976. He did one tour with the Air Force, most of his tour was spent at Finland Air Force Station – General Surveillance Radar station. His training was in Electrical and Radio repair. He was assigned on board a converted Liberty Ship called the USNS Range Tracker, which performed tracking duties through 1969 on the Western Launch and Test Range. Fred made many lifelong friends who also relocated to Lompoc. He worked for Federal Electric Corporation starting in the early 60s and retiring in the 80s.
Outside of work Fred became a Life Member of the local Elks Lodge 2274, donating much of his early years to working various Barbequing events in Lompoc. He joined the Elks Bowling League and continued bowling until recently. Bowling was a passion of his, he loved traveling for various tournaments around the state. Fred also enjoyed time with his family early years were spent camping, fishing, and time at the local beaches, later he dedicated much of his time to gardening and working on his computer.
Fred will be interred at the Lompoc Cemetery on Friday, November 11th, 2022, at 3pm with Military Honors. The family requests donations be made to the Lompoc Elks Lodge in his name, in lieu of flowers.
