Deloris Graham Coleman passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on June 17, 2014, surrounded by her family. Deloris was born in Macon, Georgia on July 25, 1930 to the late Wade and Charline Graham. She spent her first six years in Moultrie, Georgia and then moved to Atlanta. She settled in Brookhaven, a community of which she was proud to be a longtime member and supporter. Deloris graduated from North Fulton High School with honors in 1947 and then graduated from Oglethorpe University with honors in 1951. Deloris married the late Lawrence "Rensie" Coleman in 1954. She began her career as an editor for a publishing house, where she worked until her children were born. She dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother. Deloris went on to work at the Center for Disease Control. She also worked as a wedding planner at Rich's Department Store. Throughout her life, she dedicated her time and resources to many charities. Among her favorites were her church, St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal, where she was involved with the Daughters of the King and the St. Mary Magdalene group. Later, she became very involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Deloris enjoyed spending time with her many friends and was an avid gardener. Throughout her life, she never met a stranger. She was blessed with five grandchildren, of whom she was very proud and loved dearly. Deloris was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her two children, Cecelia "Cecie" Ingraham of Atlanta and Dr. Lawrence "Buddy" Coleman and his wife Priscilla of Beaufort, SC, and five grandchildren, Meg and Chase Ingraham, and Wade, Graham and Annie Coleman. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 22 at 12 o'clock at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, 3110 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, Georgia, 30319, with a reception following the service.
