Gilbert E. Weidner, 76 of Mitchell, NE died on Saturday July 28, 2007 south of Morrill. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Federated Church in Mitchell with Dr. Charles Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at the Mitchell Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 1st from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed in care of the family. Condolences may be e-mailed to [email protected] and will be forwarded to the family. Jones Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Gilbert was born March 24, 1931 in Beulah, ND to Jacob and Linda (Weidner) Weidner. He grew up and worked on the family farm in North Dakota. He was a hardworking, loving man. He was respected by all who knew him.
Gil was a member of the Federated Church, as well as the Moose Lodge; American Legion and the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn of Mitchell, NE; sons Gill Weidner of Green River, WY and Jack Noel of Casper, WY. Daughters Betty (Weidner) Ortloff of Williston, ND; Mary (Weidner) Coley of Casper, WY; Shirley (Weidner) Fletcher of Raton NM; Dawnita Schaub of Wheatland, WY and Tammy Reed of Casper WY. Brothers Hilmer Weidner of Washington; Erhardt Weidner of Kalispell, MT and Eldor Weidner of Hazen, ND. Sixteen grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
His parents, daughter Anna Kahl, one sister, two grandsons and a great-grandson preceded Gil in death.
