Jacob Frank Czolgosz was born in Alpena, Michigan, to Paul C. Czolgosz and Mary Czolgosz. He was their sixth child in their nine children family. One notable brother was Leon F. Czolgosz, assassin of President William McKinley. When the Spanish American War started, he enlisted in the army. He would receive a pension of 30 dollars a month after an explosion in 1889 at his army base, Sandy Hook, New Jersey, left injuries on his right forearm and hand, which left his ring finger halfway amputated. After the war,he married Julia Brzezinski on June 23, 1901 and had two children. Jacob died in Cleveland, Ohio on March 25, 1957. I have yet to find what happened to his corpse. Most info from books.
