Ringo Berger was born in a closet in Danville, PA, on December 23, 2012. He moved to Milton, PA, at about 6 weeks of age and was originally going to be named Xanax because he was my calming medication.

The names Xanax and Ativan were vetoed, so he was named Ringo, for the beautiful rings he had up and down his tail.

His rings faded over time, and so did his given name. I don't think he ever knew his given name because I always called him "Handsome" or "Mister Mister."

Handsome got into mischief at times, but even his mischief eventually made me laugh and gave me funny stories to tell.

Always an indoor cat, he still loved "birds of the world and squirrels." He also loved to stretch out in the middle of anywhere and show his big fluffy belly. He was a big, gentle boy and never raised a claw or a tooth to a good belly rub.

He was the best cat for greeting me at the door after a hard day and looking at me as if to say, "I know it's hard out there, but stop and look at me and pet me. It'll be okay."
