DOUGLAS CECIL THORNTON, 69, of LONG BRANCH, died Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. He was born in Long Branch and lived in Eatontown before moving back to Long Branch. He was a retired construction worker. He was also an Air Force veteran.
He was predeceased by his father, Cecil Thornton; and two brothers, Ralph and Robert Jackson. Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Zenobia Parker Thornton; mother, Lily M. Jackson of Eatontown; son, Corey T. Brown of Eatontown; grandson, Marc A. Carter of Asbury Park; step-son, Michael Jones of Long Branch; and step-grandchildren, Darren Jones and Felicia Roscoe; brother, Harold Jackson of Eatontown; sisters, Patricia Hetherington of Tinton Falls; Rebecca Frazer of Shrewsbury Township; and Thelma Harris of N.C.; aunt, Margaret Conover; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
