On the 24th of October 2022, Robert's family got word that he was ill and they were considering moving him to hospice. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer just 17 days before. Before his diagnosis, Robert was seemingly doing great for a man of his age. He was always up doing home repairs, yard work, or working on cars. Robert passed away in his sleep peacefully with his mom, wife, and younger brother with him until the end.
Robert was survived by his mother, father, wife, three daughters and their spouses, ten grandchildren, a younger sister, a younger brother, three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, and sixteen nieces and nephews. He was also survived by his best friend whom he considered a brother, Jeff Foster, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
