Patricia Jean (Caprio) Porter, 84, beloved wife of Jack Porter, passed away on October 19, 2021 in Leesburg, FL. She was born March 9, 1937 to the late Paul and Emma Caprio in Rochester, NY and was the 2nd youngest of 11 children. She was a former resident of Springfield, VT where she raised her six children before moving with Jack to Leesburg, FL in 2004. Patricia and Jack were married in 1958 and last celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
She worked at Eastman-Kodak in Rochester, NY before she and Jack moved to Springfield in 1971 with their six children. Patricia was a long-time friendly face in the office at Grand Union where she worked for many years before her retirement.
Early family life included Caprio family reunion trips back to Rochester where over 100 family members could be found celebrating together. Her entire life was dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. With her active children growing up in Springfield, she and Jack could always be found on the sidelines cheering together or splitting duties so that one of them could be at each child's even. Patricia's voice was also ever present with the Springfield Swim Team as the meet announcer with a front row seat to watch her children. She loved to bowl and on Monday nights, she would be found with her teammates at the Plaza Bowling Alley.
She adored the holidays in Springfield where it was likely to have a full house for days with her children, their spouses, grandkids and an occasional guest or two.
She found pleasure in painting and was an avid card player taking on all challengers. Her regularly scheduled card games in Leesburg were something she always looked forward to. She never missed sending a card and a note for each birthday, anniversary, holiday. ....
Patricia is now at rest with her daughter Michelle and granddaughter Nicole. In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her children, Linda Lewis (Patrick) and their daughters Adelle and Rachelle, Michael Porter (Allison) and their daughter Makenzie and son Callahan, Shannon Porter and her daughter Mary and son Jeremy, Kevin Porter (Kris) and their sons Nicholas and Nathan, Patty Deschaine (Richard) and their daughters Megan and Jenna. She also has 2 great grandchildren, Harrison and Isabella who was born one day before her passing.
Patricia was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great grandmother and will be truly missed by everyone she knew.
A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at the home of Patty and Richard Deschaine, Claremont, NH on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 4:00pm preceded by a 2:00pm ceremony with the family and close friends at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Springfield, VT In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
