OBITUARY:
At his home in Salem, at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 1890, of pneumonia, Jonathan Lesley, aged about 40 years.
The deceased was well known in Salem, where he has resided for many years. He was employed at the foundry in the penitentiary, being a pattern maker. His illness was brief, he having been at work Saturday last.
Mr. Lesley was a member of Sedgwick post, G.A.R., having served one year in the war of rebellion as private in Co. D, 150th regiment Indiana infantry. He was also a member of Protection lodge A.O.U.W. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his death.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday afternoon from the residence, 404 Center street, perhaps under the auspices of the A.O.U.W. Further notice of the funeral will be given.
