Mr. Delana McArthur Loye, 80, went home to be with his Savior on November 6, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Mike Barkley officiating. The burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park with the Randolph County Honor Guard performing military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Delana was born in Guilford County on April 11, 1942, to the late George and Ruby Hornaday Loye. He formerly attended Sheldon Road Baptist Church and played bass in a gospel group. He was retired from Sears Roebuck and also from Neal Manufacturing. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. Delana loved the outdoors and enjoyed his time spent fishing and working in his yard. He was an electric train collector and built a huge train set with many trains upstairs in his home. He was a baseball enthusiast also and pulled for the New York Yankees. Delana never met a stranger. He loved to talk to others and will be missed by everyone he ever met.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine "Jewel" Smith Loye and his son, "Little Donnie.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia "Michelle" Loye of Greensboro and Richard L. Loye of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Richard L. Loye, Jr. and Nolan T. Loye; great grandchild, Micah Loye.
