She followed her passion for business administration and working with people, as an account manager for Detroit Edison in Caro, retiring in 1977. Although officially retired, Betty became a highly active volunteer for the American Cancer Society where she spent countless hours helping support cancer patients. She had an extraordinary selfless dedication to family and those in need and a vision to help, inspire, and support their independence to enrich and lengthen their lives. She was also an active member of the Caro Garden Club, the Gleaners and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
