It is now apparent that Mr Allred was in fact Charles Jefferson Aldridge, born 1863 in Stokes County North Carolina. He changed his name sometime before his third marriage. He was the Son of John Augustin Aldridge and Emily Lainge both of Stokes Co. N.C. His Father and Grand Father were well diggers,and, in 1880 he was living and working for neighbors named Kreeger. The Kreeger house still stands today near King, Stokes Co NC. Mr Allred is said to have been shot by the Sheriff. No evidence of that one way or the other. He does seem to have died suddenly in 1913.
