JAMES CULLINAN IS CALLED BY DEATH
Resident of Utah for Forty-five Years, and a Pioneer Miner.
James Cullinan, 84 years old, pioneer miner of Salt Lake valley and a resident of the city for many years, passed away at 2 o'clock yesterday morning at his home, 540 Elizabeth street. The cause of death was given as general debility.
Mr. Cullinan was a native of County Clare, Ireland. At an early age he came to America, settling at first in New York. Later he went to California and was one of the pioneer miners of that state. He came to Utah about forty-five years ago and took up claims in the Big Cottonwood canyon. He saved a small fortune from his various enterprises, enough to live comfortably upon during his old age, and was retired at the time of death.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. D.A. Sullivan of Butte, Mont.; a brother in New York City and a nephew in Des Moines, Ia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in St. Mary's cathedral.
