Brian Robert Richards, 41, of Springfield Illinois passed peacefully in his sleep Friday, January 9, 2015, at his home. He now smiles down on us from heaven. He was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 21, 1973, in Springfield to Bruce and Barbara Long Richards.
Brian graduated from Rochester High School. He enjoyed sports, traveling to Mardi Gras, and playing high stakes poker. He had a walking knowledge of baseball and was a huge Star Wars fan. He was employed by Menards in the paint department. He had also worked for C & H Concessions and L & G Concessions. He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church.
Brian's greatest love were his family and friends especially his son, Sutton of Lincoln, sister, Amy Richards of Texas; three brothers, Daniel, Greg and William Richards all of Springfield. Nephews; Chris, Nick, Kyle, Timmy, Tyler, Brady, Julian, Cody and Devon and nieces Lexi, Miranda and Tiana. Stepfather, Elmer Farris and Stepmother, Virginia Richards.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce W. Richards, mother, Barbara L. Long Farris, and brother, Shayne W. Richards.
Visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home. with Funeral Serivce at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brent Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, Illinois.
