Dianne Warden is a 1960 graduate of Odessa High School and a 1977 graduate of UTPB. She had two sons. Dianne and James Warden married in 1989. She worked in the registrar's office of UTPB for five years and she worked as a social worker for The Salvation Army for 16 years and Texas MHMR for six years. Dianne was a compassionate and caring person. She took care of those she loved. She was a lover of animals, She said if she had enough property she would take in all stray animals in Odessa. She was smart and creative. She had a great sense of humor.

Nelda Dianne Hughes Warden was the great-great-granddaughter of Robert Hightower Hughes (1811-1867), the great-granddaughter of William Thomas Hughes (1836-1898), the granddaughter of Enoch Lester "Brownie" Hughes (1886-1972), and the daughter of Virgil A. Hughes (1911-1995). Her Hughes family begins in Franklin County, Alabama with Robert. William Thomas moves to Young County, Texas with his family. Wichita County, Texas with Enoch, and finally Ector County with Virgil.

She was a retired social worker and researched her family lines since 1978. After she retired in 2004 she began serious research on a full-time basis.
